May 4: Romans 15:14-21 – Growing in Holiness: The Grace Unto Holiness

We begin the first section of our series on the Holy Spirit this week by examining what it means to be “holy.”  On several occasions (Lev. 21:8, Ex. 19:6, I Peter 1:16) we are called to be holy (set apart) because God is holy.  But what does that mean?  We will get to some of the core of that as we come to understand the sanctifying work of the Spirit in our daily lives.  We will examine from Romans 15 the transformative grace and power of the gospel at work through the Spirit in us to come alive in our daily walk with God. In many respects the work of the Spirit is to “resurrect” us from death to life, something that’s only possible by the Spirit.  The time to “come alive” is now … through the Spirit!
